The thrill of stop motion animation is breathing life into inanimate creatures. To reach this point of creation though, there is much work that must be done.
Providing a context for the creatures to inhabit is a large part of this, often requiring many artistic disciplines to be intertwined. Exploring ways to mix and match different elements to create a convincing, if quirky, reality is such a pleasure.
I have fabricated and animated clay puppets, foam puppets, felted puppets and created many sets using a wide variety of materials to achieve different textures, looks and styles. While I am comfortable working in many mediums, I also truly love to play and experiment with new, unfamiliar, and unconventional methods and materials. That is to say nothing is off the animating table.
